Why carbon?
Carbon fibres are synthetic polymer fibres that are heated very strongly until they carbonise (char). The result is a black, very light and strong fibre with a tensile strength that is about four times higher than the best steel alloys at only a quarter of their weight. Another plus point is also the high temperature resistance.
Small air bubbles and deviations in the carbon can occur & are no reason for complaint.
